The Blue Papers of Human Rights in China is a report for objectively recording and analyzing on China’s human rights situation and development, as well as the most comprehensive encyclopedia of human rights in China ever published, compiled by the China Society for Human Rights Studies and published by the Social Sciences Academic Press. For more than ten years, the "Human Rights Blue Book" has become the most authoritative think tank report in the field of China’s human rights.
This recognition shows Handa Industries’ development model, especially the research value in the human rights protection efforts and achievements. Gender equality is one of the most complex challenges faced by Chinese textile and garment companies who invest and operate in a very different legal, economic and cultural environment when "go global". In order to actively respond to this challenge, Handa Industries actively implements human rights protection systems such as gender equality into Handa Myanmar Factories and Egypt Factory, and promotes local actions of gender equality in overseas investment under the guidance and help of China Textile Association and on the basis of full preparation. As a topic of overseas investment and local social development, Handa Industries in overseas investment faces gender equality from the strategic level, continuously enhances the relevant awareness of employees and other stakeholders, improves the corporate human rights management mechanism.
Since its establishment in 1995, Handa Industries has been always adhering to the concept of "people-oriented". Since 2014, Handa has invested and built production bases in Yangon, Myanmar and Egypt. Up to now, Handa has nearly 8,000 overseas employees. In the processes of recruitment and employment, Handa Industries upholds equality in gender, nationality, ethnicity, color, religious belief equality, which attracts many talents to join Handa with the open and broad mind, as well as the principle of equal employment and equal pay for same work. In addition to continuously improving and implementing human rights policies, Handa Industries actively participates in related activities and shares cases of corporate human rights and gender equality practices cases, hoping to contribute to human rights protection through its own efforts. In 2017, Handa was invited to participate in the United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights, and deliver a keynote address on the theme of "Labor Rights Responsible Management Practices in Overseas Investment of Chinese Garment Enterprises", filling the gap in the United Nations Forum on Business and Human Rights, which lacked the voice of the Chinese industries. In 2020, Handa Industries became the only winner of the "WEPs China Anti-Epidemic Action Award" and was invited to participate in the "2020 International Conference on Gender Equality and Social Responsibility and the Award Ceremony of Principles of Empowering Women", jointly held by UN Women and the EU. In 2022, Handa Industries was invited to participate in the side event of the 50th United Nations Human Rights Council to share practical experience of gender equality in overseas investment, showing Handa's positive progress in promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and win recognition and support from all walks of life.
